Felicity Allison & Jill Abel

State Tasmania
Club/Class Association Derwent Sailing Squadron

Felicity and Jill have both had outstanding sailing careers. The closest of mates from a very young age, they jointly purchased a SB20 in 2017 and have ever since be regular competitors in that class. They achieved the outstanding result of winning the Women's Division of the 2020 SB20 Championships held at Triabunna. They can be seen out every Thursday over the Summer season competing hard in the SB20 pennant - never giving an inch.

The dynamic duo's love of the sport of sailing is underlined by the voluntary contributions they have made and continue to make. As Commodore of the Sandy Bay Sailing Club, Felicity has presided over a phenomenally successful Off the Beach Sailing Club leading this club to amazing success from green fleet right through to high performance categories. The 2019 - 2020 season was Fe's last year as Commodore and she has without doubt left SBSC well positioned for the future. Fe also sat on the Yachting of Tasmania Board finishing her tenure their in August 2019. During the year, Jill, a Past Commodore of the Sandy Bay Sailing Club, continued her multi year tenure on the Board of Yachting Tasmania providing governance oversight of the sport at this high level.

This year, as well as her role on the YT Board Jill has, chosen to involve herself in the governance of the SB20 association as Treasurer. Both Jill and Fe are leaders in our great sport, great role models and mentors for young and older people who might aspire to participate and contribute in sailing and create a collegiate and welcoming environment with their presence.
