2024 SheSails Conference
Pathway to the Olympics - SheSails Conference 2024
In the year that we see gender parity reached for the first time at the Olympic Games, with an equal number of men and women competing across all sports and in the Australian Sailing Team. Australian Sailing’s She Sails conference this year will showcase some of the amazing Olympic female sailors and officials and their journey to Paris 2024. This event promises inspiring stories and insights from some of the most accomplished figures in sailing.
As part of World Sailings 2024 Steering the Course festival with a focus on Olympic pathways for women, we are thrilled to announce that several Olympians, fresh from their performances at the Olympic Games in Marseille, will be sharing their experiences and achievements. Their dedication and hard work are exemplary, and their stories are sure to motivate and inspire.
The Australian Sailing SheSails 2024 conference will be hosted by the passionate SheSails Ambassador Nic Douglass – known for her "Adventures of a Sailor Girl" – and will be broadcast live from the America's Cup in Barcelona.
We are also excited and honoured to have Pınar Coşkuner Genç, the first female Principal Race Officer (PRO) of the Olympic Games, speak at the conference. Pınar, who has trailblazed her way through a predominantly male field, expresses both honour and responsibility in her role. "It is the highest accomplishment of my race officiating career to be appointed Principal Race Officer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a journey that started in London and continued in Rio and Tokyo. I hope to give the best service to the Olympians and be an example to other women race officers," she says. Don't miss this opportunity to hear from Pınar and our outstanding Olympians.
