Tackers program during school holidays and term then Sunday sailing. As my dad sailed when he was younger and wanted to share the experience with me.

There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?
I now have my own Optimist sail boat. I'm in silver fleet and train on Wednesdays but I also train a lot with gold fleet on Mondays. I boat buddy on Sunday mornings to help green fleet and race in the afternoon. I also travel around the state entering in regattas.

Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?
I enjoy sailing because it so much fun and it teaches you a lot of life skills. I also really enjoy traveling to regattas across the state and meeting new people and making many friends. I also love the competition and testing my ability to focus and sail for long periods of time. I love beating the boys!

What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?

If someone was thinking about getting into sailing I would say to them that it's ok to make mistakes because your going to learn from each one, not to give up because one day your going to get to the top-it just takes some time it just takes a lot of patience and practise.

Tell us your favourite story ….
My favourite moments in sailing have been those times I have sailed really hard at regattas, to then be surprised when my name is called out to stand on the podium for girls or receive a sailing award. The thrill of this drive me to achieve more.
