We bought our own boat ( ID35 ) from San Diago and shipped it over to Sydney and started sailing on the boat occasionally so it started from that.
There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?
Sailing and now Volunteering for 11 years so far.

Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?
I very much enjoy volunteering out on the Start Boat. You get to learn many things about yacht racing. When yachts come past to mark off you get to have a quick chat so you are very much involved with the competitors which is great. Some of the things I very much like being involved with is Match Racing and Regatta's.
What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?
Please become a volunteer if you have the time. It is very rewarding while you are learning so much about Race Management. There are different tasks to learn which are very important especially when starting and finishing races and then keeping an eye on the fleets during the race/races. Such a friendly atmosphere on the Committee Boat and I find it very rewarding
Tell us your favourite story ….
Not really one which stands out to me - I love all aspects of volunteering!
