What Club, Association or company are you involved with?
Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron
What Part do you play in our sport?
Sailor; Instructor
Tell us how you first got involved with Sailing.
Through Moreton Bay College I learned I had to do tackers to be on the team.
There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?
My journey has taken me all over Australia and now even overseas to Canada
Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?
I love that I can make so many friends and get involved with new things all the time on different boats and that I'm constantly learning new things
What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?
Do it. Even if you don't like competitive sailing which is where most learn to sail courses lead, the experiences and friends and life skills you get from the sport are valuable in every way imaginable.
Tell us your favourite story ….
My favorite story is every time that the wind gets light and the squad can just muck around trying to do random skills like climbing our laser masts and cartwheeling because it just is so much fun and is a real team bonding experience.
