There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?

I am now a Regional Race Officer and on-water mark layer/ safety boat person. I have also had the opportunities to sail on quite a wide range of yachts.

Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?

I was born 100m from Bondi Beach and grew up with a love of being on-water. Having been an active life saver and Patrol Captain I was committed to helping people enjoy the surf safely. Sailing provided me a different opportunity to enjoy being on the water and also the challenge and the "feel good" rewards of doing on-water safety.

What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?

Sailing provides a wide range of ongoing new skills to develop as you progress through your different life stages. It also offers a lot of fun and challenges and active social engagement. These are all very important for a positive lifestyle and good mental health.

Tell us your favourite story ….

Working with the Sail GP Inspire program each the time it has been held in Sydney. This has provided the opportunity to work with International instructors and top sailing administrators and to marvel at the sailing skills being developed in our selected youth sailors.
