Darwin Sailing Club
What Part do you play in our sport?

Tell us how you first got involved with Sailing.
I got dragged along by a friend and fell in love with being on the water, and under sail.
There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?
From reluctant crew member to obsessed! Then to Training Coordinator to Sailing Manager. I have just qualified as a State Race officer and have volunteered down at Sail Melbourne and Sail Brisbane.
Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?
I love it all. I love getting new people enthusiastic about sailing. I love coordinating events. But mostly i love the feeling of the dance between the boat, the crew and the elements.
What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?
Do it. Today. Then tomorrow will be so much better !
Tell us your favourite story ….
Helming a perfect spinnaker run for 45 mins peaking at 13 knots on a Farr 1020 and watching our competition fold around us. The angels were singing that day.
