Tell us how you first got involved with Sailing.
Through family members and the general love of the water from family
There are many pathways in sailing, where has your journey taken you?
To international competitions and coaching sailors who haven't had the same support that I was given.
Whatever part of sailing you belong to, tell us about what you enjoy about your sport?
I love the friendliness of the people who I sail with, because everyone is really close friends on the water but when you get out on the race track during a race everyone is competitive, but at the end of the day everyone is still friends no matter what happens.
What would you say to someone thinking about getting into sailing?
It's such an enjoyable sport because you meet so many new people who have the same interest as you, and it is a sport that you can do all of your life. There is no age limit on sailing and there are so many different pathways you can take to find one that you enjoy. It also allows you to travel all over the state/nation and world.
Tell us your favourite story ….
During the 2019 Australian Laser National Championships in Tasmania, on the last day before racing it was blowing about 20-25knts in the Bass Strait with huge waves. No one else decided to go sailing but I decided I wanted to. So off I went with a support boat and I proceeded to capsize numerous times and only lasted about 30mins out on the water. Luckily nothing broke and in hindsight it wasn't the best idea. But so many awesome photos, memories and experiences came from that short training session. I still smile and laugh about it to this day.
