How your club can become involved in Steering the course
Published Thu 24 Jun 2021
World Sailing’s Steering the Course, a women's sailing festival will bring together sailing communities from all backgrounds, with events taking place in multiple countries at the same time. Held over a 10-day period the Southern Hemisphere festival dates set for: Friday 1 - Sunday 10 October 2021
From dinghies to keelboats and windsurfing to kiteboarding, all disciplines are welcome to be part of the festival. For ideas on what clubs can do to host their own Steering the Course event please review the Event Handbook that contains lots of practical event suggestions.
Countries, classes and sailing clubs will all be holding special events, aimed at introducing more women and girls to sailing and providing information on different pathways available in the sport.
There are also several online events planned, to ensure as many people as possible can engage and take part in the festival virtually. Australian Sailing has launched its inaugural SheSails National Leadership Conference event, to coincide with the Southern Hemisphere Steering the Course festival. The SheSails National Leadership Conference event set for 6pm (AEDT) Wednesday 6th October is designed to champion female involvement in sailing and empower them to reach their full potential. This special event will feature guest speakers that will provide insights and explore the topic of Leadership. Register your interest in attending today and stay tuned via www.shesails.org.au or via the SheSails FB and Insta page @SheSailsAus.
