The John Messenger Women’s Match Racing Regatta has been conducted annually since 1996 and is open to female teams of 5 or 6 sailors.

The World Sailing Grade 4 event will be contested over the first weekend of September in 2019.

The event is supported by the Messenger Family with up to 10 teams invited to compete.

In 2018, the trophy was rededicated as the John Messenger Trophy after John sadly passed away in September 2017.

John is remembered for his commitment to youth and women’s sailing and his work in developing and establishing the CYCA floating marina.  

We strongly encourage all female sailors to participate in this match racing event in 2019.
