Keynote speakers confirmed for SheSails National Conference event

Published Thu 12 Aug 2021

Sarah Styles, Director of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation, has been confirmed as one of the keynote speakers for the inaugural SheSails National Leadership Conference.

Styles is internationally regarded for her work increasing the number of women and girls participating in sport and active recreation, from grassroots to senior leadership roles. She will deliver her keynote presentation on the importance of gender diversity and the value of sport at the online event on Wednesday 6 October.

In keeping with the groundswell around these vital issues, Styles is perfectly placed to shed light on how club sport can be responsible for maintaining the debate, breaking down barriers, and establishing a stronger, inclusive narrative for women.

Styles will also present on why the value of sport is greater than simply the ‘game’. Networks, friendships and cross-cultural communication - together with career and personal growth opportunities - all contribute to the tremendous value of sport.

The SheSails National Leadership Conference event coincides with World Sailing’s Southern Hemisphere Steering the Course Festival, a women's sailing festival that will bring together sailing communities from all backgrounds, with events taking place in multiple countries at the same time.
