Twenty enthusiastic females of all ages attended a training session with Stacey Jackson at Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club.

Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club was awarded a female participation sponsorship grant by Australian Sailing to host a sailing clinic with Stacey Jackson. This clinic was held on 27 and 28 April and twenty enthusiastic females of all ages attended, sailing in a variety of boats from Sabots, Lasers, Pacers to 420s.

Stacey was ably assisted with the training sessions by a qualified sailing instructor, Jess Sabin, and volunteers form the Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club.

A variety of on water and shore activities were provided aimed at improving boat handling skills. The sailing conditions provided a challenge to the sailors as they ranged from very light winds to over 20 knots.

The feedback from the participants was positive and a very beneficial sailing experience. They found the sessions improved their sailing skills, help build their self-confidence, highly motivational plus a lot of fun.

Stacey also shared her sailing experiences and showed the sailors some of her racing videos activities from her Sydney Hobart Yacht races including the most recent race where she skippered Wild Oats X with an all-female crew to finish sixth over the line and second on handicap as well as the Fastnet and two Volvo Ocean Races.
